Being a hypocrite for saying such things, because I do drink.
But for most people, that want to live a longer life anyways, I would recommend to cut down on the alcohol or just avoid it. It is a horrible drug and it kills. I've lost both my parents to it and it isn't a short quick easy way to go. It is a long painful and very traumatic thing to go through. I can give a first hand experience of what it is like dealing with it.
You retain fluids, your liver stops functioning, you can't focus to the point where you don't even remember who you are anymore. I was in and out of the hospital with my mom for over 2 years. It was long nights of suffering. The only thing that I can imagine is that the same thing could happen to me. And these things already happened twice.
Two years ago my mom had surgery for retaining fluids. Being the stubborn person that she was, she left the hospital early, came back home before she even healed, against doctors advice. She leaked body fluids all over the house as the stitches opened up. It was in the kitchen, and bedroom, everywhere. This was like something out of a nightmare. After that she only got worse, and really there wasn't a whole lot you can do, only wait for a liver transplant. My DAD waited for a liver transplant for several years and never got it. He went through the same exact thing.
What I'm saying is that morals over bad judgment, what would you choose? I'd say neither. But if you don't want to die this way. And let's say, both may be bad, but one might kill you. Some people think that oh it won't happen to me. Especially to the young. But it does. This is absolute. The younger you start the worse it is.
My parents thought it was OK to drink because LAW had no restrictions against it. Would I have recommended something different if I knew so? Absolutely. They would have still been alive. That's what drove the sickness. My parents always told me it was wrong. Who told them? Why is it frowned upon and what was the difference when it only ended with a grave.
As far as I know and I have smoked especially to kick the habit of alcohol, and this has been only recently in times of stress. Weed's side effect has only been that of eating more often. These are my thoughts and I can't change the past.
So my 2 cents are that if this shit was legal it might not have happened. But because people listen to what people say...
NOT their own hearts.
I can get more into depth about these things, pain, depression etc. Because I know and understand the feeling and consequences behind it. But I'll save that for a later blog.
