Event Description

Our Mission

The Zeitgeist Movement is not a political movement. It does not recognize nations, governments, races, religions, creeds or class. Our understandings conclude that these are false, outdated distinctions which are far from positive factors for true collective human growth and potential. Their basis is in power division and stratification, not unity and equality, which is our goal. While it is important to understand that everything in life is a natural progression, we must also acknowledge the reality that the human species has the ability to drastically slow and paralyze progress, through social structures which are out of date, dogmatic, and hence out of line with nature itself. The world you see today, full of war, corruption, elitism, pollution, poverty, epidemic disease, human rights abuses, inequality and crime is the result of this paralysis.

This movement is about awareness, in avocation of a fluid evolutionary progress, both personal, social, technological and spiritual. It recognizes that the human species is on a natural path for unification, derived from a communal acknowledgment of fundamental and near empirical understandings of how nature works and how we as humans fit into/are a part of this universal unfolding we call life. While this path does exist, it is unfortunately hindered and not recognized by the great majority of humans, who continue to perpetuate outdated and hence degenerative modes of conduct and association. It is this intellectual irrelevancy which the Zeitgeist Movement hopes to overcome through education and social action.

The goal is to revise our world society in accord with present day knowledge on all levels, not only creating awareness of social and technological possibilities many have been conditioned to think impossible or against "human nature", but also to provide a means to overcome those elements in society which perpetuate these outdated systems.

An important association, upon which many of the ideas of this movement are derived come from an organization called " The Venus Project" directed by social engineer and industrial designer, Jacque Fresco. He has worked nearly his entire life to create the tools needed to assist a design of the world which could eventually eradicate war, poverty, crime, social stratification and corruption. His notions are not radical or complex. They do not impose a subjective interpretation in their formation. In this model, society is created as a mirror of nature, with the variables predefined, inherently.

The movement itself is not a centralized construct.
We are not here to lead, but to organize and educate.

I clearly see his short comings and biases towards spirituality which he does address in the rest of this interview ( the video below being 1 of 6 ). Again, it is a clear short coming in my mind in that, equating the intuitive or unknown with the nonexistent is fundamentally wrong. Even mathematical equations all solve for X, the unknown. The point I was fumbling with in the last comment is tied to that short coming in that the source of our suffering is rooted in what some call the human condition. A term usually used to avoid the almost unbearable responsibility of conscious existence and to deflect alternative modes or systems of social congruence, especially in the current world societal state. And this "human condition", the wrestle with desire; greed, power, property, security, etc., all stemming from fear, is what we all struggle to master or better or transcend. And, as some philosophical jaunts arrive, since our only true constant ( as discernible by our "accepted" senses ) is change or movement then we are only accomplishing versions of ourselves and society to be bettered or at least layered over in the future. Hence, "be here now" is the Guru's mantra, rings the truest in aware souls, and may, though tainted by competition and miss quoted as "the zone", even be in almost every sport. The point is still "don't throw the baby out with the baby water". Take what works and helps alleviate the burdens of our existence and especially coexistence and move forward with it. If anything, lessoning the struggle of humanity in a material sense would only free it to pursue spiritual growth. The idea that they have to be mutually exclusive or intrinsically intertwined seems redundantly convenient to this dualistic argument. In other words, the movement is really up to you, me and all of us collectively, just as it was before zietgeist and will be after the next artcommentdocumentary.
Ps. And ,not to defend anarchist, but as far as the machines being programed by scientist well, . . we're already there and the rate at which they're being outdated is exponential, besides it's not murder if we decide we hate em and smash em! ha! ha! although, I think even that would way on my conscience. Maybe this interview will shed a little light on the "creator" of Zietgeist but more importantly show us all that throwing the baby out with the bath water is collectively our greatest short coming. Remember that it is up to us, "you" to better ourselves, society, spirituality, and any if not every perceived failing of human existence. We are only versions of what can be and will be. ">object>

I can understand your concerns. I'm aware of our past but the internet and technology has shifted the power into the hands of the people. Think about the society we live in now. How long do you think we can continue living this way?

I've been aware of the zeitgeist movement since 2007 and I've never heard any of these things. That may be an individual and his opinion about the movement but that does not represent the movement as a whole. If you want to more about it here is zeitgeist orientation guide

We are one, but we are not equal. There is always a hierarchy, without it wisdom can not flow. Even if it is source and self, there are different levels. We are far from a heaven on earth reality yet. After 2012 when we are freezing in our ice bunkers with our new found levels of spiritual consciousness some of these ideal may be reached. J/K. Thanks for this post though Jack, I don't know too much about it, like everything it warrants investigation. And thank you Laura for your input, much appreciation for your voice and warning on the matter. You are clearly a reptilian! Haha, totally playing!
